Bihar Home Guard Vacancy 2025
Home guards play a crucial role in supporting the police in upholding law and order, managing specific incidents, ensuring the delivery of essential services during emergencies, and engaging in disaster management activities. In recent years, the responsibilities of the Bihar Home Guard Corps have significantly broadened. The deployment of Home Guards for active duty has led to an increase in their daily allowances and welfare benefits. Consequently, the significance of the roles that Home Guards fulfill and their contributions to society have become increasingly evident. The aim of the e-Command initiative is to establish comprehensive records related to Home Guards and to enhance the automation and transparency of the processes involved in their deployment and allowance distribution.
Qualifications for Bihar Home Guard Vacancy 2025
Candidates must be permanent residents of Bihar. The recruitment of Home Guards will be carried out in a transparent manner, organized by district based on the merit list at the district level. This procedure will comply with the Bihar reservation policy and the directives issued periodically by the General Administration Department, Bihar, Patna.
These directives ensure adequate representation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes (including the third gender), Extremely Backward Classes, Backward Class Women, Economically Weaker Sections, and Women, and will remain applicable until the date of the advertisement. Furthermore, reservations will also be provided to the grandchildren of freedom fighters, in line with the circular from the General Administration Department, Bihar, Patna.
Age Criteria for Bihar Home Guard Vacancy 2025
As of January 1, 2025, the minimum age requirement for candidates of all genders, including male, female, and third gender, across all categories, is set at 19 years, while the maximum age limit is established at 40 years.
Qualification for Bihar Home Guard Vacancy 2025
- Educational Qualification: By January 1, 2025, the applicant is required to have successfully passed the Higher Secondary (Intermediate) examination or an equivalent evaluation acknowledged by the State Government.
- Physical Ability: The applicant must demonstrate the physical fitness necessary to undertake demanding fieldwork.
Bihar Home Guard Nomination 2025
- Candidates are allowed to fill out the application form exclusively for the district in which they have permanent residency. If any candidate submits applications for more than one district, all of their submissions will be considered invalid.
- Applicants are required to attach several documents to their online application form, including a permanent residence certificate, a Matriculation or equivalent certificate that confirms their date of birth, a passing certificate for the Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination, a marks certificate for the Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination, a caste certificate for reservation purposes, and a certificate for economically weaker sections. Candidates who are claiming backward class or extremely backward class status must also provide a creamy layer exemption certificate. For married women belonging to reserved categories, only the caste certificate that indicates the father’s caste will be accepted.
- The physical efficiency test will be administered in accordance with established guidelines and will utilize advanced technology.
Physical Efficiency Test for Bihar Home Guard Corps 2025
Height: The minimum height requirement for male candidates in all categories, with the exception of those from the Purnia and Kosi division districts, is 5 feet 4 inches (162.56 cm). For male candidates hailing from the districts of Purnia and Kosi division—specifically Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Saharsa, Supaul, and Madhepura—the minimum height is established at 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cm). Female candidates across all categories must meet a minimum height of 153 cm.
Chest: The minimum chest measurement without expansion for male candidates in all categories, excluding those from the Purnia and Kosi division districts, is 31 inches (79 cm). For male candidates from the aforementioned districts, the required chest measurement is 30 inches (76 cm) without expansion.
Chest measurements are not applicable for female candidates in any category.
Note: The physical standards and physical efficiency test criteria for candidates identifying as third gender will be consistent with those established for female candidates.
Character: Candidates must demonstrate a clean moral character. Enrollment as Home Guards will be dependent on the candidate’s commitment to serve a minimum of three years in the Home Guard Corps of Bihar.
