Chandigarh RTE Admission 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria
Proximity Criteria for School Enrollment: Students residing within a 1-kilometer radius of the government school are eligible for enrollment. Additionally, those living within a 3-kilometer distance may also apply. For children residing beyond 3 kilometers, enrollment is contingent upon the submission of a parental commitment to ensure safe transportation for the child. The age eligibility for all classes is established as of 31st March 2025:
Pre-Primary Level-1: Children born between 1st April 2021 and 31st March 2022 (ages 3 to 4 years)
Pre-Primary Level-2: Children born between 1st April 2020 and 31st March 2021 (ages 4 to 5 years)
Pre-Primary Level-3: Children born between 1st April 2019 and 31st March 2020 (ages 5 to 6 years)
It is important to note that unaided recognized private schools in Chandigarh are prohibited from admitting children under the Economically Weaker Section/Disadvantaged Group category for the entry-level class through offline procedures.
